Aug 7 Some growing experiences...

Crazy week this week! Got my new companion now his name is Elder Flores hes from the Philippines.


Still here in St. Thomas though in the boonies. Well like I said it was a crazy week and the adversary is really trying to attack us. We had some insane experiences that I don't understand but we also saw some crazy miracles. Here's one of the experiences from this week. We were walking in this community on the side walk and this guy yells hey Mormons come here and he ran up to us. To help you understand this more he legit was a block behind us and we were like what the heck. Anyway we stopped walked towards him and first words he said were "don't you two guys look like idots".... being me I respond well "I think I look pretty good actually" Haha. Kinda thought that we would just walk away after that but he continued on and in short didn't like what we were doing so started yelling right into our faces about many different topics. He being atheist didn't like what we were doing I guess Haha. We tried leaving multiple times but he just kept going and going and going. It honestly hurt me to see someone be this made and honestly I felt bad for him. Legit this guy just hated us to pieces and all because we share a message of joy, happiness and love. So anyway this continued on for about 10 or 15min and the whole time I was able to look him straight into the eye and testify over and over again. Nearing the end this lady came out because she was seeing and hearing this and tried to back us up as she felt this was not ok. It was a blessing to see someone care enough to take time out of their night to come help us out. I was able to shake his hand at the end and testify to him that God loves him, I care about him and hope the best for him. It was a very special but hard experience as my companion and I are just trying our best to help others. But the adversary is real and is trying to bring our spirits down. But this man I guess was supposed to do this so we could find a new person to start teaching. You know the lady that came to back us up... we are starting to teach her this week. God does watch over us. He does love us and want the best for us. There were many other experiences similar to that one this week and were hard but I learned a lot from it. From this I was able to realize how blessed I am to be able to share my testimony so often and for how much I do love this gospel. I know this happened to me so I would be able to see that my testimony is stronger then I think. At times I for sure struggle with knowing if God is pleased with me or is happy with what I am doing but being able to have these experiences really made me feel the love my Heavenly Father has for me and how the spirit was able to help me say what I needed to. As well as do what I need to do, which was to bear testimony over and over and be calm. This is what popped into to my mind after this happened Matthew 5:10 "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.". I'm not saying that I am even close to returning and living with my Heavenly Father as I have so much learning still, but I am thankful I can receive blessings as I stand up for what I know is right. We were able to find 3 new people that we have return appointments for this week which is so awesome. I for sure can see the lord working through us to find people that are willing to hear what we have to say. We have been working extremely hard this week and it has been very busy. Got to knock a lot of doors and teaching more then normal which was awesome! The weather is still pretty hot most days but am getting use to it. Been riding our bikes more which is fun but also really hot. But it's all going good. Was able to go running a couple mornings this week and helps you stay awake in the morning and start your day off right Haha. Surprise, we got transfer calls! I'll be leaving and heading to the heart of downtown Toronto. I will now be in the Toronto YSA ward and training a brand new missionary for my last transfer. Super hyped I am staying in the city and probably going to my dream area to end ahh....well this past transfer was pretty close to my dream area as well haha. It was another extremely bumping week. We were able to find 5 new, have 3 at church and three on date for baptism!! It is for sure bitter sweet but I know God has some crazy amazing things in store for Toronto YSA and us. This past week was sweet as my companion and I legit felt like celebrities  . We honestly had five or six people either come up to us or over hear us talking to someone else and want to hear more about the powerful message of the Restored Gospel. October 29, 2018 New Area. New companion.

Well Peterborough is sweet. My new comp is from southern California and got to Canada this past week. We have had to walk a ton as the last Elders left no kms on our car. So for the past three days we have only walked, which has been intresting. Good though as we aren't working with a lot of people yet as it's only been a week. But miracles are happening already for our diligence and hard work. We have got two people on date for baptism on Nov.25 so that is extremely exciting. We were able to find 3 new people this week who we started teaching and got some more appointments this week which will hopefully turn into new people we get to teach. Theres a lot of uni students as there is a college and uni in this city of only 80,000 so it's been fun talking to a lot of them. A lot of them are really open and enthusiastic about God which is super cool to see Haha. This week there was a scripture that really stood out to me in Mormon 9:31 which reads "Condemn me not...

Sept 10, 2018 Staying and Training

Well transfers happened and I will be staying another here. But will be training a new missionary so that will be a new and exciting experience for sure. It is crazy to think its been six more weeks and now am going on 12 weeks here in St. Thomas. We have some super solid people so Im so excited to see them progress. For sure am pumped to see what comes from this next six weeks here. We were able to find a really awesome family to start teaching from knocking the other day before a dinner appointment. That family I'm very excited for. Another lady with three kids we found this week. She was in a rough situation and so she just got out of a bad place and now is really looking for comfort. We taught her once and she is very receptive and truly felt the spirit. Another one is that door a couple weeks ago we felt prompted to knock on is progressing and should be coming out to church next week!! Then of course we have a 9 year old on date for baptism in Oct.
