August 27...We told her we share a message about how families can he together forever...

Summer is almost gone.....its crazy how fast time is flying. Like when I say that I'm for real!!! Like it's been 10 months now!!! Well it's been a pretty sweet week honestly as we had zone conference and I was able to speak in sacrament meeting! Also had a crazy cool experience with the spirit leading me to someone that I feel is very prepared to hear our message, so I'll tell you about that first. We were driving one night and I saw this family outside this house and we were headed to a teaching appointment. In my head I was like dang ok we got to go to that place in the next couple days for sure, they look like beyond awesome people. To be honest I dont know why this came into my head but it did. Legit was just a regular family but they looked special and I now know why. So yesterday we were doing some finding and I felt we should go to this place and knock on their door. So we did and there was no answer from the door we knocked. It was kinda like a town house situation so there was a door right next to it. Anyway, we waited, knocked once more and all the sudden this lady walked out the other door Haha. She kinda got scared, it was funny as we were just standing there and didn't even knock on her door yet Haha. But she turned out be really awesome and nice. As we got talking we found out that the family I saw was her brother and his wife and kids!! Her mom and her live right next door. So this massive family lives in the same complex together Haha, which I think is pretty cool. Anyway we told her we share a message about how families can he together forever and touched on prophets. She was so open and felt like what we were sharing was super cool. As well said her mom and brother and so on would probably love it as well!!! So we have an appointment with all of them this coming up Sunday, which I'm so excited for!!! The spirit truly does work within us to help find those people searching for something they never even knew they were searching for. It so cool to see how God uses us as tools for sharing his gospel on a regular basis. It's been super cool to see this area progress and find some pretty sweet people that I've grown to love. It's been crazy awesome and we have been teaching around 9 lessons a week now!!! Which is crazy as we were teaching like 1-2 when I first got here! So for sure we are seeing blessings which is amazing as many times blessings don't come that quick. I know I have worked hard to plant a lot of seeds here. This area will continue to flourish as the lord works with us to help the work here progress. I love this quote from preach my gospel talking about the opposite of humility and it always makes me check myself. It says "To be prideful means to put greater trust in oneself than in God or in His servants.". I know without a doubt it isn't me doing the work, it is our Father in Heaven directing us, as we LIVE WORTHY! I know it is key to be obedient and to do as our Father in Heaven has instructed us to do, as we do so, we see miracles and can expect them!! Not always how we want, but we can expect them. That is the beauty of the gospel. As we are obedient and live up to our covenants or promises with God we can expect blessings. Now I know that can be controversial so yes it shouldn't be the sole purpose, it should just be because we love the Lord. But you cannot argue it's an extremely good reason to do so as these blessings from being obedient and living worthy to receive them are beyond what we can ever imagine. My brother sent me an email with this in it and it really hit me as I feel this is exactly what is happening to me. It says "C. S. Lewis indicated there is often pain in change when he wrote of God’s expectations for His children: “Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on: you knew those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently he starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of--throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace” (C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity, New York: MacMillan Co., 1960, p. 160)."    Progress through Change. I feel so blessed to feel that God is making me into this palace as I turn to him in prayer, scripture study and honestly just being willing to change. Like I've said before change is repentance and that is one key thing we need to learn to return our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. This chance I have been given to do so here on my mission and to really understand this has changed me forever and I am eternally grateful for that. I know I'm doing what my Savior and father and heaven want me to do at this time. Yes it is hard....really hard. But this sacrifice is helping me grow beyond what I have ever imagined and shown me what I want more then anything....that is for myself and others to return to our Father in Heavens kingdom.
