May 27, 2019 In Sudbury with Elder Hillyer-finding new people!

It was a pretty solid week to be honest. Got to see God's hand in the work in a lot of different ways. We started off are week knowing we wouldn't get much time to find so we decided to go out Monday night and dedicate that time to go find some new people. We were blessed to find two new people that we shared a message with and got return appointments. Plus it was a super nice night out so that was a big blessing 🤣🤘. One of them is from Africa and she is here for school. She was super excited to meet us as she feels she doesn't have to many people around her to talk about faith promoting things. I know this is a massive help to have people around you that desire similar things. For example all growing up I had solid group of guys around that wanting to achieve similar things, one big one was all going on missions. So I'm glad God led us to her as I know how key it was for building my faith and hope in Jesus Christ. Of course my parents and family members played a key role in that as well, which I am extremely grateful for. They were all great examples of this quote and I am striving to do the same right now. "When we take upon ourselves the name of the Savior, He becomes our foundation. As we follow Him, we see the world in a new light, His light."(The Telescope Perspective June 2019 Ensign). I know I'm slowly getting this ahhaha, which is fine as we are all on our own journey's. The destination can be the same as we all are striving to repent and change daily. When I was on exchanges this week with one of my favorite missionaries Elder Hillyer we were talking about something super interesting. "The focus that each missionary emphasizes for certain rules on the mission". It really made us think and see how everyone is so different. We are all at different points and have different testimonies on different principles that are all important. Really makes me check myself before I judge others for something as I know we are at different points and that's ok. The key is to strive to be better. That's what God want's and asks of us. As I was studying this week i came across this super sweet talk from October 2017 called "Be Ye Perfect-Eventaully". I really enjoyed it especially in regards to what Elder Hillyer and I were talking about. Many times we are so hard on ourselves and others that we forget about Jesus Christ "unfathomable gift given at an incomprehensible cost.". We can be forgive as we change and become as our Father in Heaven so desires for each of us. A great living example of this is a lady we are teaching. She actually was able to commit to a baptismal date this week (June 29) which I'm so hyped about. She really desire to gain more knowledge of gospel and truly is willing to apply them. She sees like many others that we are blessed as we follow the council given to us, as His children. He knows what's best and as we take the time to learn His doctrine and submit to His will we will be blessed! I am also working on this idea of understanding God knows best hahaha...sometimes I think I know better unfortunately. Which never ends out turning out to hot 🤣. Well anyway life is good and am super grateful to be out here. Especially here in Sudbury, truly love these people and am super thankful I have the opportunity to be here right now. Love u all and hope you have a great week 🙏😀.
