Amazing facebook missionary experience-April 16, 2018

 Well this was a very exciting week for me as I got my first baptism of the mission ðŸ‘Œ.
Not that it's about how many baptisms at all but it's so great to see someone progress and then end up making a covenant to always remember Him (Jesus Christ) and live worthy to have the spirit with us by living the commandments God has given us. I know that I have for sure reaped the rewards of doing so and continue to as I am obedient to my Heavenly Father and doing as he wants us to do. It's so amazing to me that I can know what to do as I strive to be like my Savior. There are some key attributes that the Savior has that I am striving for and invite all of you as well. They are faith in Jesus Christ (something we need if we want to be like him haha), hope, Charity and Love, Virtue, Knowledge, Patience, Humility, Diligence and Obedience. So I know that sounds like a lot to work on all at once. It for sure is for me!! So I choose one to work on at a time and what I have noticed is if you are doing one you are most likely doing the others. They all go hand and hand. So do it! I promise you will see a major positive difference in your life if you just work on these attributes! Its very cool to see how you can change as you focus and have the right mind set. It isn't easy, let me tell you, and honestly you will have to go back and work at the same ones again and again but you DO change little things each time you work on one and it's so crazy to see how much you grow from trying. I know as you do this you truly are doing as Helaman direct's "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." So do as it says; build your life on a strong foundation by striving to be more like Christ and work on the attributes he portrayed when he was here on this earth. Well I'll tell you a little bit about Waterloo and what we do every week haha. So we have ESL twice a week, We have sports three times a week and the rest is up to us as a companionship to decide what we do. I like contacting, which is when you just walk around like downtown or a more populated place and just go up and talk to people, but my comp likes to track a lot (knock doors). So we try to mix it up. But lately we have been using Facebook to find a little more and it's incredible how well it works!! It's awesome to have another tool to help us share this wonderful message of Jesus Christ. We had a pretty cool experience yesterday actually. We were driving back from an appointment with this investigator and we saw a lady stuck in the snow (as we just got some crazy storm!!!!). So we decided to park off to the side of the road and help push her out. We ended up getting her out and she was so thankful and wanted to talk but we were in the middle of the road so we had to rush away as cars were coming up behind her. Anyway we quickly told her what church we were from and told her our names. Then we left and got back in our car and drove away. Anyway a couple hours later we get a message from one of our other investigators who said: hey did you guys help push a lady out of the ditch today? We responded that we did, our investigator went on to say there is a Facebook post that is going around Waterloo about you guys helping her and she wants to find you!! So we end up finding her, adding her and now we are meeting up with her to teach her!!! How amazing is that! What are the odds of us ever seeing her or being able to get in contact with her in this big city! So just another miracle and a testimony to me that God is looking out for us and is preparing people to meet with us and build that faith in Jesus Christ which is so essential for returning and living with God again. I hope that story made sense and isn't all over the place haha. Anyway we are having an ice storm right now so the weather kinda sucks but what can ya do.

Surprise, we got transfer calls! I'll be leaving and heading to the heart of downtown Toronto. I will now be in the Toronto YSA ward and training a brand new missionary for my last transfer. Super hyped I am staying in the city and probably going to my dream area to end ahh....well this past transfer was pretty close to my dream area as well haha. It was another extremely bumping week. We were able to find 5 new, have 3 at church and three on date for baptism!! It is for sure bitter sweet but I know God has some crazy amazing things in store for Toronto YSA and us. This past week was sweet as my companion and I legit felt like celebrities  . We honestly had five or six people either come up to us or over hear us talking to someone else and want to hear more about the powerful message of the Restored Gospel. October 29, 2018 New Area. New companion.

Well Peterborough is sweet. My new comp is from southern California and got to Canada this past week. We have had to walk a ton as the last Elders left no kms on our car. So for the past three days we have only walked, which has been intresting. Good though as we aren't working with a lot of people yet as it's only been a week. But miracles are happening already for our diligence and hard work. We have got two people on date for baptism on Nov.25 so that is extremely exciting. We were able to find 3 new people this week who we started teaching and got some more appointments this week which will hopefully turn into new people we get to teach. Theres a lot of uni students as there is a college and uni in this city of only 80,000 so it's been fun talking to a lot of them. A lot of them are really open and enthusiastic about God which is super cool to see Haha. This week there was a scripture that really stood out to me in Mormon 9:31 which reads "Condemn me not...

Sept 10, 2018 Staying and Training

Well transfers happened and I will be staying another here. But will be training a new missionary so that will be a new and exciting experience for sure. It is crazy to think its been six more weeks and now am going on 12 weeks here in St. Thomas. We have some super solid people so Im so excited to see them progress. For sure am pumped to see what comes from this next six weeks here. We were able to find a really awesome family to start teaching from knocking the other day before a dinner appointment. That family I'm very excited for. Another lady with three kids we found this week. She was in a rough situation and so she just got out of a bad place and now is really looking for comfort. We taught her once and she is very receptive and truly felt the spirit. Another one is that door a couple weeks ago we felt prompted to knock on is progressing and should be coming out to church next week!! Then of course we have a 9 year old on date for baptism in Oct.
