July 11, 2018 HOTTT!!!!

It was a good week! Got lots done and we were able to visit a lot of people who needed our help with
service and we got to teach some of them. I'm pretty excited because today we get to go golfing for Pday! A member is taking us out and so it should be a lot of fun! Still been like 40 degrees Celsius and so that's been exciting and an adventure. We got to do lots of finding and knocking on doors and talking to people on the street. It's always exciting and a fun experience to be able to do that everyday for a couple hours. We were able to see some awesome Miracles this week. One being we ran into a member who was baptized when she was 14. Now she is 30 years old and has 5 kids and hasn't been to church for around 15 years. The area we are in has a lot sketchy people and has a lot of homeless people. As well as into a lot of different types of drugs and so she is worried about her kids falling into that lifestyle. She wants to have them come to church and be baptized which is super exciting. It was kind of crazy because we were walking around for hours and hours and we hadn't seen any success so we were getting pretty down but as we kept on going we were able to run into her and then we started talking to her and we got her information to start teaching her and her kids which is an amazing blessing for us as it has been a little slower teaching then we would like. I know we were blessed because we were out finding and doing what we were supposed to do and we were rewarded with that blessing of being able to find her and being able to help her more fully come to Christ. This is one of the key things that we do as missionaries is invite people to come unto Christ. Because they have agency though many people reject our message and choose to not accept Jesus Christ or the things that we teach. This is a very good lesson for me though because it has helped me build my testimony and has helped me strengthen my belief in Christ as I get to answer many questions people have. Because our Heavenly Father loves us all so much he gives us the opportunity to choose like I've talked about in the past. There is an amazing talk that I read that I'd like to share with you a little piece of it. It reads "Agency is essential to the plan of happiness. It allows for the love, sacrifice, personal growth, and experience necessary for our eternal progression. This agency also allows for all the pain and suffering we experience in mortality, even when caused by things we do not understand and the devastating evil choices of others. The very War in Heaven was waged over our moral agency and is essential to understanding the Savior’s earthly ministry." (Personal peace the reward of righteousness 2013). I'm not sure if I have shared that already or not so if I have sorry but it's really good! A quick funny experience that my companion and I had the other day was there was a person in the park sitting down, or so we thought. So being missionaries we have a lot of awkward experiences and so we try to make it as comfortable for the person that we're going to talk to. So we decided to walk like an extra 5 minutes to go talk to this person on the bench and we were just going through this Arch to talk to this person. And to our surprise it was a man that was carved out of cement and he was just sitting on the bench and it was pretty funny and my companion and I had a good laugh about it. Charles St Thomas has been great so far. It's still insanely hot like I said before and we get to come in at lunch time to take a quick shower and I put on some new clothes cuz we're a little sweaty but it's it's been good. I love being able to serve my Heavenly Father and be able to share the gospel. In any way possible whether it's through service and helping people that way or teaching them the restored gospel on a daily basis. For sure one of the highlights of my week actually was running into this so-called prophet. He was able to tell us and sense that we were servants of God and that we were going to have an amazing experience in the near future. So my response was 'well I hope it means a good dinner cuz I'm pretty hungry!' And his response was why would you think that the award is so small! You need to aim for bigger and I was laughing my head off!  It was a good time! I love being able to meet new people and being able to share experiences and talk more about the gospel as well as just have some funny experiences like that! It's a big blessing to be able to smile everyday and to be able to talk about My Savior Jesus Christ. I hope all is going well back at home and it I hope it's nice and warm for you for the summer. Surprise, we got transfer calls! I'll be leaving and heading to the heart of downtown Toronto. I will now be in the Toronto YSA ward and training a brand new missionary for my last transfer. Super hyped I am staying in the city and probably going to my dream area to end ahh....well this past transfer was pretty close to my dream area as well haha. It was another extremely bumping week. We were able to find 5 new, have 3 at church and three on date for baptism!! It is for sure bitter sweet but I know God has some crazy amazing things in store for Toronto YSA and us. This past week was sweet as my companion and I legit felt like celebrities  . We honestly had five or six people either come up to us or over hear us talking to someone else and want to hear more about the powerful message of the Restored Gospel. October 29, 2018 New Area. New companion.

Well Peterborough is sweet. My new comp is from southern California and got to Canada this past week. We have had to walk a ton as the last Elders left no kms on our car. So for the past three days we have only walked, which has been intresting. Good though as we aren't working with a lot of people yet as it's only been a week. But miracles are happening already for our diligence and hard work. We have got two people on date for baptism on Nov.25 so that is extremely exciting. We were able to find 3 new people this week who we started teaching and got some more appointments this week which will hopefully turn into new people we get to teach. Theres a lot of uni students as there is a college and uni in this city of only 80,000 so it's been fun talking to a lot of them. A lot of them are really open and enthusiastic about God which is super cool to see Haha. This week there was a scripture that really stood out to me in Mormon 9:31 which reads "Condemn me not...

Sept 10, 2018 Staying and Training

Well transfers happened and I will be staying another here. But will be training a new missionary so that will be a new and exciting experience for sure. It is crazy to think its been six more weeks and now am going on 12 weeks here in St. Thomas. We have some super solid people so Im so excited to see them progress. For sure am pumped to see what comes from this next six weeks here. We were able to find a really awesome family to start teaching from knocking the other day before a dinner appointment. That family I'm very excited for. Another lady with three kids we found this week. She was in a rough situation and so she just got out of a bad place and now is really looking for comfort. We taught her once and she is very receptive and truly felt the spirit. Another one is that door a couple weeks ago we felt prompted to knock on is progressing and should be coming out to church next week!! Then of course we have a 9 year old on date for baptism in Oct.
