October 15, 2018..Am so blessed..
Let me emphasize the spirit leads and guides us to those ready and willing. We have been so blessed in this area and the members in our ward are getting excited!!! The work is rolling along well! We have another person on date for baptism for November! This area truly is amazing and I'm so blessed to serve here. We have a baptism this week and we get to go to the temple again (since it's my companions first transfer we get to go on Thursday with all the other new missionaries as well). So this week should end up being a blast! So this new guy on date is a young guy around 28 years old. He's got a Fiancee and one night last week just felt he needed to get a bible. So he looked it up online and found the church website and requested one. We ended up bringing him one as well as teaching him about the Book of Mormon and how our church came to be!!! We then explained the priesthood a little more in depth. The whole time he was smiling and was like 'man I might cry-I feel something real.' He then asked for a blessing. I was able to give him a blessing of comfort as he has been having a little bit of a rough time. He afterwards stood up and looked at us and said "Wow I felt something this is real stuff". We then had a chance to really explain the spirit and put him on date for November 24!!! The power of the priesthood is so real and makes such a big difference in my live and I know many others! We have been given that authority to use and those that don't take full advantage of it are truly missing out because I know without a doubt that authority from Christ's original organization has been restored and is extremely powerful. Another story..this one for sure is more funny but we had to walk an old lady home a couple nights ago haha. Ok we felt like we should go down this street we wouldn't normally walk down. We ended up running into this lady that was about 75 years old I would say. She for sure had some type of dementia or memory loss as it was like 8pm pitch black and she was walking around a long way from her house 🤣. We asked if we could share a card with her and she said yes and then she asked for some directions. We weren't too sure so we just looked it up on our phone. She was over 20min away from her place and she had no idea where to go! She said she had been praying and she knew that we were sent from God. It was a kind of cool experience! We had such a great conversation as we walked her to her place (lucky, one of our appointments got pushed back so we could help her!). She didn't end up wanting to meet up for a lesson at the end, but it was a great opportunity see that we truly are Gods servants being directed to those that need our help (sometimes in many different ways). Many times people including myself go through rough times and go through the storms of life. I was reading in Isaiah this past week and came across this. "1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. 2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. 3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall." (Isaiah 25:1-4). Just as these verses are saying, Christ is on our side and as we turn to him those storms of our lives can be made easier because he knows exactly what it feels like. There are many rough days out here. But also so many amazing ones. But I know as I turn to my Savior, I know without a doubt, he knows exactly how I feel. The work of the lord is amazing and the progress is doing extremely well in this area. I'm excited to see what the future holds and am hopeful that everything will go well. I love u all. Have a great week!!
