Nov 18/18 Being passively obedient vs actively obedient..& serving the Lord is great..

Aaaaooo everyone. Had a great week. Had Zone Conference and got to see some really sweet Elders. Also got some really awesome instructions. One thing that was brought up that I really enjoyed and made me think was, are we passively obedient (because I'm supposed to) or are we actively obedient (because I want to). We came to a conclusion that both our fine and good but actively obedient of course brings way more enjoyment. Things that come from being actively obedient are loving choices, sincere desire, and Humble response. Those sound like a lot better then fearful choices, dutiful desire, and prideful response (what comes from passive obedience). So you choose. Or I guess you can be the person that is completely disobedient which is about 40 steps down from passive obedience and about 41 steps down from actively obedient 🤣👌. I want to at least be obedient so this for sure made me see the much joy that comes when we realize that obedience is for our good. When it's there for our good we can find joy and then become one of those actively obedient people, which is an amazing place to be. If you aren't there yet or you have dropped down strive to get back up. The way we can do so is repenting, changing and realizing there is much positivity in obedience. Anyway for sure give that some thought I thoroughly enjoyed thinking about it and finding out for myself where I am. Really quickly actually I want to emphasize if you are passively obedient that is ok. Active obedience will come as you are passively obedient. I for sure am not actively obedient with certain things yet. But I know it will come. Many times "We must walk by faith rather than by sight"(PMG pg49). Sometimes we will not understand or see the blessing but because we know it's best we do. That is ok. But it's not ok to stop following because you don't understand. Some things might be like this your whole life here on earth honestly. Good thing we have eternity to figure things out Haha ðŸ˜‰. This is one thing we try to help the people we teach because theres lots of things that won't come right when we want them. We need to be willing to Submit to Gods will and understand he knows best. But we are entitled to ask for ourselves and come to know through the spirit and prayer. So as we ask you will receive an answer. Many times not in the timing we want but it will come as we act in faith. We got our man here getting baptized on Saturday and I can guarantee that he doesn't understand everything but he is acting in faith. This is what God expects us to do if we want to come to know for ourselves. O funny story from yesterday. There was this guy well we were contacting downtown was following us and yelling "they are trying to get you to make sure you don't give me money. Don't listen to them" hahahahah. The funniest thing ever honestly. He was very high and for sure didn't understand we were missionaries giving out cards and talking to people about Christ 🤣👌. So that was legit really made my day. People were very curious to what was going on and got a lot more people looking at us funny. But just the typical day honestly. I know we are planting a lot of seeds and seeing some great success. The man getting baptized this week-daughter will be getting baptized in a couple more weeks now as she has been having some issues that we have to resolve. But should still work out in a couple weeks. Then the next guy is still on date for December 15. Crazy to think we found these people on the streets and now they are where they are. I for sure know God puts people in our path prepared and ready. Then those others that scorn us and treat us badly are there to test our faith and help us grow. I'm thankful for both as it for sure humbles you. I know both are key in our progression as missionaries and humans that will benefit me and other missionaries for life. This scripture is great and explains my life at this time Haha. "Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.". Prayer is key to success and joy. I know that is 100% true because I am experiencing this daily. Ok moving on to weather. Honestly so cold out here Haha. On Thursday night it was crazy how much snow we got. It was the start of the big snowfalls. But all is good it's fun to play in. Life is good and serving the Lord is great. Hope all is well with everyone! Love you all keep being awesome ðŸ‘ŒðŸ’ŽðŸ‘‘🤙.
