Nov 26/18 BAPTISM!! It was super awesome and I felt so much joy when he got baptized...

This week was another bumping week out here in Peterborough. Miracles took place and it was amazing to see everything fall into place. So first of all we had our baptism which is so amazing! It was super awesome and I felt so much joy when he got baptized. I am so glad that I got to be there for it. He is a bigger guy so the elders quorum president and I baptized him. Then my companion confirmed him a member and gave him the Holy Ghost. As a missionary for sure a great opportunity to see the person you have taught decide to take that next step to be baptized. A great scripture talking about baptism is Moroni 8:25 "And the first fruits of repentance is baptism; and baptism cometh by faith unto the fulfilling the commandments; and the fulfilling the commandments bringeth remission of sins;". So seeing people decide to get into the straight and narrow and repent is amazing. As this is exactly what we preach and I try to live ๐Ÿ˜„. I was able to give a talk Sunday on obedience and repentance. One of the great quotes that explains both obedience and repentance is by president Monson. He says "There is no need for you or for me, in this enlightened age when the fulness of the gospel has been restored, to sail uncharted seas or to travel unmarked roads in search of truth. A loving Heavenly Father has plotted our course and provided an unfailing guide๏ปฟโ€”even obedience. A knowledge of truth and the answers to our greatest questions come to us as we are obedient to the commandments of God.....Life would be simpler for all of us if we would obey such rules completely. Many of us, however, learn through experience the wisdom of being obedient.". I like this a lot, especially that last part Haha. I feel as humans unfortunately sometimes we have to learn by experience instead of just trusting. But that is exactly what repentance is for. Honestly there will be a lot of things you won't need to experience because you understand that it isn't probably the best but some things you have to to fully learn why it's not great. I guess not have to but we choose to. I know my last email I talked a lot about obedience so I'll move on but i just love it now. Obedience bring blessings and joy! I want that! We all should. Strive to be obedient that's all our Heavenly Father has asked. Then if you mess up repent and change. It's not the back up plan it IS the plan! God knew before we came here we wouldn't be perfect. That is exactly why he sent his son Jesus Christ. Kk so cool story about something that happened yesterday. Ok so we were contacting downtown on like Wednesday morning and set up a time with this guy for Sunday afternoon. Anyway we show up hoping to teach him and he doesn't show... so we went back to work. We just started talking to people and the typical finding stuff. Anyway after about 10min we ran into this man and shared a quick video on our phone with him. He got super excited because he had been praying for this for the past year! So we ask if we could go find a place to talk and share a little more. He was so down. Legit is so solid he's 27 and just an already sweet guy. We taught him the plan of salvation and put him on date for baptism for December 29! Honestly that is such a big testimony builder for me and shows God puts you in places you need to be to find those ready. As well as was a test of faith as we could have been all grumpy and just went back to the car and tried something else. But we went back to work right away and saw a miracle. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the effect it has on me and others. I know especially in this Christmas time it's so key to spread that same joy you and I have. So do it! Surprise, we got transfer calls! I'll be leaving and heading to the heart of downtown Toronto. I will now be in the Toronto YSA ward and training a brand new missionary for my last transfer. Super hyped I am staying in the city and probably going to my dream area to end ahh....well this past transfer was pretty close to my dream area as well haha. It was another extremely bumping week. We were able to find 5 new, have 3 at church and three on date for baptism!! It is for sure bitter sweet but I know God has some crazy amazing things in store for Toronto YSA and us. This past week was sweet as my companion and I legit felt like celebrities  . We honestly had five or six people either come up to us or over hear us talking to someone else and want to hear more about the powerful message of the Restored Gospel. October 29, 2018 New Area. New companion.

Well Peterborough is sweet. My new comp is from southern California and got to Canada this past week. We have had to walk a ton as the last Elders left no kms on our car. So for the past three days we have only walked, which has been intresting. Good though as we aren't working with a lot of people yet as it's only been a week. But miracles are happening already for our diligence and hard work. We have got two people on date for baptism on Nov.25 so that is extremely exciting. We were able to find 3 new people this week who we started teaching and got some more appointments this week which will hopefully turn into new people we get to teach. Theres a lot of uni students as there is a college and uni in this city of only 80,000 so it's been fun talking to a lot of them. A lot of them are really open and enthusiastic about God which is super cool to see Haha. This week there was a scripture that really stood out to me in Mormon 9:31 which reads "Condemn me not...

Sept 10, 2018 Staying and Training

Well transfers happened and I will be staying another here. But will be training a new missionary so that will be a new and exciting experience for sure. It is crazy to think its been six more weeks and now am going on 12 weeks here in St. Thomas. We have some super solid people so Im so excited to see them progress. For sure am pumped to see what comes from this next six weeks here. We were able to find a really awesome family to start teaching from knocking the other day before a dinner appointment. That family I'm very excited for. Another lady with three kids we found this week. She was in a rough situation and so she just got out of a bad place and now is really looking for comfort. We taught her once and she is very receptive and truly felt the spirit. Another one is that door a couple weeks ago we felt prompted to knock on is progressing and should be coming out to church next week!! Then of course we have a 9 year old on date for baptism in Oct.
