Feb 24, 2019: Well my time here in North York has come to an end..going to Sudbury!!

Well my time here in North York has come to an end. Pretty sad honestly because of the amazing work that is going on but am so pumped to see what Sudbury holds for me. Going to be heading up North to the coldest part of the mission ahahha. I guess they think since I'm from Canada I like the cold.....hahahaa. But truly has been an extraordinary experience here and seen so many miracles. Super happy I was able to stay for the two baptisms this transfer as I truly loved them both. The lady ended up getting baptized and confirmed Sunday morning Feb 24,2019 and what a spirit filled baptism that was. I was able to confirm her a member of the church and give her the gift of the Holy Ghost. Just makes me so happy I am able to hold that authority to bless others lives! I know that it is because of the Restoration of Jesus Christ church and the authority given enables us "to seal both on earth and in heaven"(D&C 1:8). I truly know that this power has been restored and we are so lucky has Gods children to participate in the work of the Lord because of this power. I was actually thinking about this earlier this week, why would God give us as imperfect as we are that power and authority? My first thought was of course so these saving and necessary ordinances could take place. But why not just have a few people that are super righteous and just amazing all around amazing people hold that authority. But then we read this talk on Sunday. It reads "Our Heavenly Father’s goal in parenting is not to have His children do what is right; it is to have His children choose to do what is right and ultimately become like Him. If He simply wanted us to be obedient, He would use immediate rewards and punishments to influence our behaviors. But God is not interested in His children just becoming trained and obedient “pets” who will not chew on His slippers in the celestial living room. No, God wants His children to grow up spiritually and join Him in the family business."(Choose you this day October 2018). This really made me think, this is why he gives us that power and authority. He wants us to choose to be good and this is one of his tools we have to become like Him. It is up to us to make sure we are worthy so we can be using that power properly and worthily. Like it says Heavenly Father wants us actively choosing to do good. I know that the priesthood power and authority helps is do so. As well as helps us return with Him to His kingdom as we need these sacred ordinances performed to do so. Anyways Haha  I love this gospel and know it's true, I hope you all can feel that in my Blogs. Well I'll tell you a little more about this lady that got baptized! She is so great and I have really grown to love her. She is from the Philippines and has been here for a while now. She actually lived in Calgary for a couple years before moving here. So that was cool as we had an instant connection because of that. She was a big church go'er to any Christ church till just over a year ago when her dad passed away over in the Philippines. She felt lost and betrayed by God and kinda was angry with Him. She missed her dad and was very lost. This took her to a bad place where some things not so positive happened. But as the months went on she started to watch sermon on YouTube and could feel a little more light in her life again. She got to the point she wanted to find the truth. She wanted Jesus Christ back in her life. So she went online and requested a Bible from what she thought was actually a 7th day Adventist church . Low and behold a couple days later two young guys dropped by and were dropping that Bible off...but those boys were missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints  and that's where her journey started. We later found out that her Dad that had passed away in the Philippines was an active member of our church as well as her sister in her home country was taking the lessons from missionaries! She had felt her father who is on the other side, as well as our Father in Heaven, made this happen. I know that he truly did. Its wonderful to see how our Heavenly Father has a plan for each one of Hiss loved children!!! Now she is baptized and will be preparing to go to the temple to do baptism and confirmations for her other family members. If that isn't a miracle and lead by God I don't know what is! It has truly been amazing to be able to teach her through this and see her take this step into the waters of baptism. Follow the example of our saviour Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:15-17 in the New testament). Well there is a little info about our new member of the church. Super stoaked to be going up to Sudbury and continuing the work of the Lord in other wonderful places. Love you all and hope you have an amazing week!!! 🤙
