May 12, 2019 Our investigators!

Exciting times here in Sudbury with our baptism this past week and some great progress with a tone of people we are meeting with. Honestly God has blessed us to find and teach so many amazing people these past couple months being here in Sudbury! It has really re-emphasize the power of God putting people in our path that are prepared. I'll give you and example from this week. We had an appointment around noon so we decided to knock doors from 11-12pm on Tuesday. We were able to have some super solid conversations and with in 20min we ran into a very special lady. Her desire to learn was extraordinary, I know God prepared her for us. We asked if she would be comfortable if we shared a message with her right then and there. She accepted and we sat on her steps while we taught her the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As we taught, things clicked for her. She was fascinated as we shared why we believe there are so many churches and that because we have a loving Father in Heaven that He wanted to restore truth to His children here on this earth. So he did through a prophet just as He did in the past. Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.". Just as this scripture says, God uses His prophets to reveal truths. Anyway as we fast forward to our return appointment with this lady on Thursday we were able to share The Plan of Salvation/Happiness and was able to explain key to return to our Father in Heaven is baptism. With this we put her on date for baptism on July 6! So that was extremely exciting and shows God truly leads us to those needing to hear His message. Another great example is a lady we have been teaching for about a month now and have committed her to be baptized as well. We also found her knocking on doors one afternoon. This past week we had her mom with us in the lesson and she was able to tell her she was getting baptized and the support her mom showed was amazing. So super grateful that we have been able to be working with such prepared people. One thing that I was studying was enduring to the end. One thing that really stood out to me was Mark 4:17 "And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.". This stood out to me especially with our new converts coming into the gospel, as well as for myself. I know how key it is to focus on planting our roots strong to make sure when hard afflictions come my roots don't get mangled and then uprooted. I for sure feel this is something we all need to focus on to make sure we stay strong and with are roots firmly planted in the gospel soil. Super grateful for the many tools we have to make this happen such as prayer, scripture study and church. I'm very thankful for all that God has provided for us to make sure we stay strong and on the path back to Him. Love you all and hope you have an amazing week!!!
