Sept 12-I constantly am in awe and thanksgiving because of all our Father in Heaven is providing for us here in Toronto.
Well for sure having a set of YSA missionaries in this area of Toronto was inspired haha. Were able to put two more people on date for baptism this week! Both have Jamaican background and are all around really sweet guys. As of right now we have two getting baptized October 13 and then one October 20th. I constantly am in awe and thanksgiving because of all our Father in Heaven is providing for us here in Toronto. Being on busses everyday for sure provide a tone of cool experience as we are always talking to people. Something that has now happened multiple times is members from other countries that have just moved here coming up to us and asking for the church info as they haven't been able to figure it out. As well as members that haven't been to church for a while. This is super cool as I have seen the importance of always being out in a place where God can use you as an instrument in His hand. I know many times God uses us as individuals to show His love for us. We pray each day to be used as instruments to perform what God wants us to."seeing that the Lord had granted unto them according to their prayers, and that he had also verified his word unto them in every particular."(Alma 25:17). This happens daily as we pray and reflect on our day and we see that God answered our prayer, whatever it may have been. One cool experience that we had was on Friday night. We were busing home from exchanges with some other Elders and my companion and I were craving a blizzard haha. We weren't sure if we should go as we were cutting it close timing wise. But we ended up hoping off at the DQ as it is on our way home. We stop to talk to this one guy and had a super solid conversation. He is a plumber and has a strong belief in Christ but hadn't been to church for a while. Long story short we shared about the Book of Mormon and got his number. Now if we flash forward to yesterday we had our first lesson with him and the spirit was strong. He was very humble and excepting of the things we were sharing. We ended up committing him to baptism in what we truly believe is Christ church with the Restored authority (priesthood keys) that was given to the apostle in Christ time. "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."(Matthew 16:19). This authority is very important because it seals things on Earth and in Heaven. Super grateful that God is the same yesterday, today and forever so of course he would give us this power again after His apostles died. But anyway that was an extremely cool experience with that Jamaican man. Saying all of this I do promise you that we have hard days and hard times out here haha. But it's all worth it. Just as we have hard days in everyday life or days that may feel less successful we will be blessed as we strive to do what is best. God loves us, His children and we are not here to be miserable. So if anyone is having a hard time know tomorrow can be better!! This is something we share with those we teach, our missionaries and apply in our own lives. So continue to strive hard to be the best you can! Well love you all and hope you have a sweet week!!!
